Very well known is the Marienschlucht near Bodman. A stream has worn its way down through the cliff, even more spectacular is the newly built footbridge that opens up the gorge to walkers.
The Marienschlucht is best reached by foot from Bodman or Wallhausen, or by motor boat Großherzog Ludwig from Bodman, Sipplingen or Überlingen, to then climb up through the gorge by the steps. Or you can start at the golf club in Konstanz, where there are newly built car parks in the woods, and enjoy the walk downhill. In summer, when the water level isn’t too high, there are plenty of spots along the riverbank where you can relax and swim.
A visit to the Marienschlucht is combined well with a canoe trip from Wallhausen. More information can be found at Lacanoa.com.
